FUNDING IN IRELAND Each L'Arche community throughout the world is responsible for its own administration and funding. The communities in Ireland are 80% government funded, 20% is from fund-raising and from the gifts of friends. FUNDING IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES In countries enduring poverty, war, famine or disease, the whole population suffers, but for children and adults rejected by society because of their disabilities, life is particularly fragile. There are L'Arche communities in the very poorest parts of the world, providing loving homes, education and work. They depend greatly on us for their survival. L'Arche ODF (Overseas Development Fund) began 10 years ago in response to the plight of people with learning disabilities in developing countries, for whom there is little or no State aid. L'Arche ODF is a vital lifeline, raising over £1 million in the last decade to L'Arche communities in Africa, India and Poland. With your help, we can give new dignity, security and hope to some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
